With no special rules, this singleton cube is ready to draft out of the box for anyone familiar with the cube format.

This is a Mad Science-themed cube with an emphasis on strong interaction and medium-level threats. After being discouraged multiple times in other cubes where I felt like the power-level of the creatures was so high that agency was reduced, I decided to create this cube such that no card feels impossible to beat, and include some of magic's most powerful interaction to ensure that that was the case.

Mad Science is the starting place for the archetypal themes as well as a few card inclusions for flavor, but there are obviously more inclusions than one that don't fit the theme, so I hope that the gameplay makes up for the break from form.

Archetypes are broken down by the 2-color guilds, but nearly every archetype can be found in spillover in other colors as well so that you can find a meaningful splash no matter what color pair you end up finding yourself in.

Many cards with the keyword, "mutate," are in the cube, and many card inclusions reflect that as well. You'll find many less humans than you might normally, and many more creatures with power and toughness of 0/0 to make the mechanic as rewarding as possible.

Archetypes

w-uw-uw-u

Azorious blink is nothing new in cubes and neither is blue's monopoly on counter magic and white's unique ability to answer anything cleanly. Energy is a new include for this cube and touches almost exclusively the Jeskai colors

u-bu-bu-b

Dimir shares some graveyard shenanigans with golgari and, similarly to azorious, has effective counterspells and removal.

b-rb-rb-r

Rakdos sacrifice is not exactly unique, but it does it well and has support from so many sets that we get the pick of the litter. This cube has red focusing on sacrificing artifacts in addition to creatures.

r-gr-gr-g

Gruul monsters ends up being gruul dinosaurs in this cube. Fast, big, and dangerous creatures are waiting for you.

g-wg-wg-w

Selesnya goes wide, and has overlap with simic proliferate. Counters on creatures and creatures on counters.

w-bw-bw-b

Orzhov is a little bit go wide with payoffs for sacrificing those creatures that you've stockpiled.

u-ru-ru-r

Izzet is about that spell-slinging and energy, but there is also a large polymorph theme in this color combination. Luckily, all of the colors have token producers, so the polymorph archetype can touch any colors with either Blue or Red.

b-gb-gb-g

Golgari is about filling your graveyard and doing something with it, housing nearly all of the rad counters in the cube. This color combo also contains many good mutate cards and enablers.

w-rw-rw-r

Boros does aggro extremely well. In this cube, you'll find many of the mardu colored creatures to be heavily artifact-based.

u-gu-gu-g

Simic is the proliferate guild, with maybe the largest segment of mutate cards.

ccc

There is a small artifacts matter archetype with colorless payoffs and artifact creatures found mostly among the mardu colors, but as always, spillover amongst colors is prevalent, so build the way you like!
