Corrected error where an illegal card was in the cube. I have replaced with a prior card from that slot.
Thank you to our friends at Do Gooder for hosting a very competitive live 6 man cube draft. All players were able to create strong decks. The best three were:
All 6 decks were solid, but these three stood apart. Great synergy, great drafting, and solid piloting by some of Denver's best!
Thanks again for making magic cube great!
The maybeboard is now clean and empty again. The cube has had many changes; too many to summarize.
High level, we removed a few mechanics completely and added more interaction to the cube. I suspect that play will be a bit faster with more intricate combat decisions.
Please review the cube and share your thoughts.
Happy Drafting,

Adding a ton of goodies from my play booster box and pre-release kits. I do not think that this set is very strong, but in spots the cards can be very powerful. Most of the mechanics are just riffs on priors sets. I think a few will make the cut.

I purchased a box of bulk cards from my local card store. In it I found some cards that deserved a second look. Do nay of these fit the archetypes of the cube? I think the answer is probably no, but maybe there is one...
LCI has few artifacts that interest me, but I may consider some graveyard hate to help against reanimator strategies.
LCI Green had fewer cards but the few that did catch my eye are quite powerful. I am unsure how discover and explore will interact with the cube, but I am willing to playtest. Green has needed some help.
LCI's red cards are flashy. They may not objectively be better than the cube's current roster, but some just seem FUN! I will be taking a long look at this list to see if we can find a home for a few of these.
The black cards from LCI are interesting. they are not strictly better than current cards, BUT they offer some interesting synergies and the ability to deal with some imbalances seen in play.
LCI has some good blue commons. I will be examining these against the current environment over the next few days.
Almost missed this white card!
Adding some interesting white cars from LCI to the maybeboard. These have great synergy with the current cube and some may even be strictly better. The joys of power creep!
I am considering some changes in the artifacts. My goal is to keep synergy, but not at the expense of fun.
The gold guild pairs are particularly vexing in the cube. I am tempted to remove the "God Cycle" Cards and add more playable gold cards. The key would be to still balance creatures and spells. This list is far from complete, but is a good starting point for playtesting.
NOTE: Not a mainboard change list. I corrected this and these were placed in the maybeboard instead!
This is a list of possible green spells. Green spells are solid, but there has been a recent power creep in green spells that fight, bite, or do combat tricks. In addition the utility slots are increasing adding value.
NOTE: Not a mainboard change list. These are instead in the maybeboard.
Green creatures are already good. Con we build to tighter archetypes.
This list is of possible pauper red spells to support other play strategies.
The competition at low end for red is quite intense. There are some needs for diversifying red creature types.
