Deleted these 4 cards from my list for some reason.
Took out the equipment subtheme. It too too many pieces to make it come together and was high risk for low reward. Put in some powerful cards from the new set, unfortunately dodging werewolves because I don't want players to have to track day and night.
Updating for AFR. Decided that I don't want rolling dice to be a mechanic in the cube, so I avoided those cards.
Taking out some of the snow cards that I desperately wanted to be good enough, but never saw any play. Then making some changes to hopefully make the cube even more powerful, and further cement archetypes.
Lorehold is here and man did it have some great options. This update adds lessons, but not learn, just flexible colourless spells that fit in any deck. Also 5 new tap lands, some new multicoloured cards, and most scary, serpentine curve. Overall hoping it raises the power of the cube, without over modernizing it.
A new snow set!
Honestly was hoping for more snow commons, but I'll take a full set of dual lands. The set also came with some good commons, so I'm making a few changes.
Small change, Murder seems unneeded, so I'm putting in the twins
A lot of new cards became available to the cube, as with any legends/masters set. Big overhaul, taking out some failed experiments, and overall raising the power level of the cube. At least that's the goal. COVID times make it hard to actually test.
A key note is the removal of the mono colour payoff lands. They just weren't enough upside for the drawback in all but mon-coloured decks, and didn't see much play. Removing them makes space for more cool cards. Future update may include more white equipment payoffs, we'll see.
Update for zendikar Rising. There's some pretty good commons that I couldn't not include. I feel like it's an overall buff for the cube.
