Moonlit Strider: nice in this deck, but Doran could use it more / better.
Nemesis Mask: Since initially taking it out, this deck has shifted away from evasion and more towards (sustained) value and is okay with being blocked for value (also see Grand Melee notes). Nice dual use of being able to destroy tokens (while buffing Zurgo) and as evasion by equipping it to another creature. Not sure if it puts a target on Zurgo by being too threatening, but at least the threat is fun. I've since found that Doran's high toughness isn't actually sufficient often but Zurgo's indestructible should make it always sufficient in that regard. A more minor note but this in theory is nice in that it can allow Zurgo to kill small creatures in combat even against players with creatures larger than Zurgo.
Secluded Steppe, Forgotten Cave, Barren Moor: Taking out pure unsynergistic card draw for space. Secluded Steppe also maybe for Zethi. Cluestones still provide some cycle while being a little more synergistic with gameplan (ramp).
Fiery Fall: okay, but not very exciting even if it may be better than a random big creature. A little concerned with having too many landcycling and not enough lands to get to 2 mana (to cycle and ramp).
Festering Evil: always feels a little slow and expensive since it needs a turn before it does anything.
Grip of Chaos: fun in concept but a huge headache to actually execute.
Witch's Mist: Maybe okay for some multiplayer relevancy, but feels expensive/slow, not always relevant, and just meh in this deck.
Vorrac Battlehorns: Probably a little underwhelming. I think there's enough small creature removal that I don't need this and can instead lean into the theme of making blocking painful. In that regard, this seems unnecessary: with small creatures out of the picture, blocking is already painful regardless of whether this is equipped or not.
Armillary Sphere: Doesn't actually help drop Zurgo on 4. Also removing shuffling is always nice.
Mind Stone: Might actually be better than the cluestones, but I like the symmetry of having all 3 right now. The colorless mana is a relevant downside too since this deck can have some pretty intense mana color requirements.
