Okay, last change for a bit. As much as I love Stasis (especially the art), it's a hard card to build around in limited. Standstill has some interactions with Hanna, Ship's Navigator and Zur the Enchanter, and having just added Faerie Conclave, I think there's a simple deck there that can make use of it. With the removal of Stasis comes the removal of Thwart, which was there to help Stasis. I'm replacing it with Remove Soul because I just love that card's original art.

Sadly, it's time to see Tim (Prodigal Sorcerer) go. As much nostalgic joy that he may bring, he's just so lackluster a card. Not even Curiosity can really justify his inclusion, so I'm cutting both. Will Snapcaster Mage be too strong? That remains to be seen.

Though Curiosity still pairs with Thermo-Alchemist, the Alchemist is also able to just be far for efficient on its own and plays into a spellslinger-style deck nicely. It's one of my favorite cards in the pauper cube.

Raise Dead is definitely just a nostalgia inclusion - I love the art - but with the addition of cards like Snapcaster Mage and Thermo-Alchemist, I think there are decks that will want to be able to throw out a 1cmc spell to get some added value. Gather the Townsfolk also plays into this.

I'm adding in more efficient black creatures that support an aristocrats theme. Additionally, I'm giving weeny decks a synergy card with Mentor of the Meek, and Gather the Townsfolk helps out a go-wide/swarm strategy while also being more sac fodder. Overall I think these additions will help across a variety of strategies that rely on weenies. And then I'm adding Pyroclasm as a failsafe to keep these weenie decks in check.

These are the cards from INR I'm considering for the cube. I don't want to be adding all of them. I'm most interested in the white cards being added to help out white aggro. White feels weakest in the cube, and it's limited in its scope. Townsfolk and Niblis feel appropriately powered for the premodern level and synergize well elsewhere. I just love Thermo-Alchemist as a card and think it's a great spellslinger payoff and not nearly as powerful as something like guttersnipe in this premodern environment. Maybe Snapcaster is too good, I dunno. I just think he's neat and always a good value card.
