Tons of Modal Cards... None of them good enough to be played here... So sad.

Dismal Failure is too powerful here. I was noticed about this since the beginning, but wanted to try it, due to the Cube has many ways to play spells from the graveyard. But in the end the card is really hard.

Undermine was always on my radar, but I prefered Ionize. With the power level upgrade I want to give it a try.

Gods, I love the continuous spoiler season we live lately. Not so my pocket.

Strixhaven arrives in April, but we know some sweet cards from that set. Modal cards are always nice, even most in Pai Gow Magic, where you want to have as many choices as you could to build decks and to have answers for the most situations you can have.

  • Lorehold Command has powerful modes to close a game before your opponent can play their creatures if they don't do anything to stop you. Nice card.
  • Quandrix Command is sweet, too. +1/+1 counters, bounce and/or shuffle your graveyard effects are always good tricks.
  • Silverquill Command. Being sorcery it hurts a little, but the pump and fly ability and the edict mode are decent. You can also reanimate some small creatures in this Cube, so this isn't always a dead choice.

As I said in my Kaldheim Update, I'm looking to add powerful cards I wouldn't play before, as I want more threats and not so many removal and/or recursion cards.

Let's see if my criterion is wrong or not.

I'm also watching if my threats are too reactive to what your opponent does. It's fun to play a creature that kills your opponent's threat, but that could lead to some matches where both players pass the turn not doing anything, waiting for your rival playing something.
